Public Fibre Optic Training Courses
COFI Bespoke Versions
The CFCE course is designed for test engineers who need to learn how to carry out full fibre characterisation (fiber characterization), including bi-directional OTDR testing, chromatic dispersion, Polarisation Mode Dispersion (PMD) and spectral attenuation measurements. It is usually necessary to carry out fibre characterisation when dark fibre contracts are signed. You will learn to carry out fibre characterisation on teleceom networks for 100Gb/s & extended wavelength operation, & deal with the impact on testing of technologies such as ROADMS & Raman amplifiers.

Role
This course assumes that you have some previous experience of basic OTDR testing, but offers advanced OTDR training as well as CD and PMD training. The course is designed to create advanced fibre characterisation engineers. Typical job roles of attendees include: fibre optic test engineer; fibre optic test technician, optical fibre technical support; fiber optic test analyst; fibre network network project supervisor. If you would like your team to focus on how to carry out the tests efficiently, and how to verify that the acquired data is valid, then have a look at the task based, technician level CFCT course.
